TimberNook Bay Area is in our 3rd summer offering TimberNook programs to Bay Area children! Hosted by our beloved Tilden Regional Park, our location at the Willows picnic site is a magical place for TimberNook experiences, with a bubbling creek, a large meadow for group games, and lots of open space tucked back in the woods for hours of imaginative free play under the magnificent trees.
Laura Figueroa has been a pediatric occupational therapist for 17 years. She loves playing the TimberNook way every summer, and wholeheartedly embraces TimberNook's philosophy of nature play as developmental enrichment for children. During the school year, she offers outdoor occupational therapy services for children (www.outdoorkidsOT.com), and teaches in the graduate OT program at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland. She lives in Berkeley with her husband, José, and their daughter and sons, ages 14, 13, and 6.
Cheryl Nolan (not pictured yet) is also a pediatric OT with over 15 years experience working with children. She joined the TimberNook Bay Area family in 2016, and works as a pediatric OT in local schools during the school year. She is passionate about how nature inspires children's play, and is a creative thinker who designs inspiring TimberNook experiences for our older children's camps. She lives in Lafayette with her husband and 2 sons. You can read more about her by visiting our TimberNook Bay Area Facebook page, and searching for "Cheryl Nolan" to learn 10 fun facts about her!
