TimberNook Bay Area

TimberNook Bay Area just wrapped up our 3rd summer offering TimberNook programs to Bay Area children! Our beloved Tilden Regional Park was a beautiful location for our camps the past few years, but due to increasingly strict regulations imposed on the children's play at the end of our time there (no climbing trees, no touching sticks or rocks, no wading in the creek, and no playing in the wooded areas), we are looking for a new site to host our programs next summer in 2018. Tilden park rangers have suggested we consider private land. Please contact Laura @ outdoorkidsot.com if you have any leads!

Laura Figueroa has been a pediatric occupational therapist for 17 years. During the summers, she manages the business aspects of TimberNook Bay Area, leading curriculum development and volunteer and staff training. During the school year, her business (www.outdoorkidsOT.com) offers outdoor occupational therapy services for children who need specific developmental intervention. Laura teaches part-time in the graduate OT program at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland. She lives in Berkeley with her husband, José, and their daughter and sons, ages 14, 13, and 6.

Cheryl Nolan is also a pediatric OT with over 15 years experience working with children. She joined the TimberNook Bay Area family in 2016. She is passionate about how nature inspires children's play, and is a creative thinker who designs inspiring TimberNook experiences for our older children's camps. She lives in Lafayette with her husband and 2 sons. You can read more about her by visiting our TimberNook Bay Area Facebook page, and searching for "Cheryl Nolan" to learn 10 fun facts about her!

Good registration experience. Looking forward to it.

So far so good. Also submitted this morning registration request for Isis's older brother, Ramses. Looking forward to positive camp experience for both my children.

We are looking forward to our first TimberNook camp this summer!
