TimberNook of West Georgia

We are happy to be the first program in Georgia. We are on a mission to bring back the simplicity of childhood. Playing outdoors is such an important part in early childhood development and outdoor play is just what we are doing at our beautiful host site located in West Marietta. West Cobb Church's recreational area has approximately 5 acres of walking trails and pine forests to explore. We also have climbing ropes, a sand pit, a tire swing and more. Come play, create, and imagine with us!

Owner and Director Christa Thomas has a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and has taught in both the private and public school settings. Her unique teaching philosophy and background in the Reggio Emilia approach has helped provide authentic learning experiences for children of all ages.
Christa and her husband, Marty are currently homeschooling their two adventurous boys. Nature plays a huge role in their family life. They enjoy hiking and camping as a family. They are also passionate about caring for animals and growing clean healthy food on their suburban mini-farm. Christa's desire for learning outdoors led her to TimberNook and she is on a journey to share it with her community.

My son absolutely loved every minute of his time at Timbernook! He went to three different camps during his summer break and can't wait to go back next summer. We loved that he was able to play outside using his imagination and spending time in nature. Christa does an amazing job of keeping the kids engaged!
