What will you do at Timbernook West Central Florida? Create imaginary worlds, interact in community, live out stories, and engage all your senses. We are bringing back the simplicity of childhood play and embracing nature as the ultimate sensory experience. Kids will build, spin, climb, imagine, get dirty, and take appropriate risks. This physical play fosters creativity, problem-solving, and interactive collaboration. TimberNook West Central Florida is located on the back wooded acres of our host site, First Baptist Church Imperial Lakes.
Director Angela Rosenburg has a Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy with over 15 years of experience in both clinical and educational pediatric settings. Her knowledge of child development, sensory processing, social and emotional regulation, and motor skills has helped provide authentic and engaging experiences for children of all ages.
Provider Ryan Rosenburg has a Bachelor’s degree from Florida Southern College. He is a Florida native and an Information Technology Programmer with Publix. He is an active volunteer with middle school and high school groups and sees the value in getting our “big kids” back into nature, building community, engaging motor and sensory skills, and giving tweens and teens time and space to hold onto their childhood.
TimberNook West Central Florida will launch spring 2019 and run year round programming for children ages 18 months through middle school. We will offer weekly enrichment programs for homeschool and un-schooling families, summer and holiday day camps, special evening events, middle school night programs, and periodic family events. TimberNook West Central Florida will also offer school or organization field trip opportunities and birthday party packages. Come play, create, and imagine with us!
We are conveniently located in south Lakeland, less than 30 minutes from Brandon, FL, 45 minutes from Tampa, 20 minutes from Bartow, 35 minutes from Winter Haven, and 20 minutes from Plant City. Our TimberNook outdoor classroom is only open during scheduled programs.
